General Settings

To access the Interval planning settings, open the main menu images/download/thumbnails/494470919/Hauptmen%C3%BC_img.png and click on images/download/thumbnails/494471117/Allgemeine-Einstellungen_EN_img.png in the Settings area under images/download/thumbnails/494470693/Administration_men%C3%BC_img.png . Then select the images/download/thumbnails/494469703/Intervall-Planung_EN_img.png section on the left-hand side.

Specify a user for background tasks that is used for automatic processes that are possible in interval planning. The user then stands as the creator in a task or also in the interval cycle. The user is used for these automatic processes:

  • Trigger interval cycles (auto)

  • Generate assignments automatically

  • Writing back due times from the planning board

Then define for which period the intervals are to be pre-planned. Select the desired time unit from the drop-down menu and increase or decrease the number using the arrows. The value is also taken for the automatic processes Trigger interval cycles (auto) and Generate assignments automatically if no source API has been specified.

The setting "Trigger all" in background controls the type of triggering. If this setting is active, intervals are first determined during pre-planning. You can then set a list of intervals and trigger them in the background.

With the setting Trigger interval cycles (auto) you can determine that the intervals are automatically triggered for a period of time. If the setting Automatically generate assignments is active, the required assignments are also created for the interval cycles.

With the settings Cycle trigger source API and Create assignment source API, among other things, the period can be defined via a statistic. However, both APIs must always be filled.

The setting On record locks - retry in X sec. specifies, if an interval is locked, in how many seconds it will be retried to generate the interval cycles.

Errors can occur during automatic generation and the setting Max. number of trigger errors/Max. number of assignment errors that may occur during the triggering of an interval or assignments. Then the interval or the assignment is omitted from the run.

With the settings Interval cycle. Check frequency in minutes and Assignment creation check frequency in min you can define how often intervals are checked, whether intervals need new interval cycles or whether new assignments must be created.

You can also activate that assignments are automatically generated. To do this, click on the checkbox Generate assignments automatically.

The name of an API can be entered in the Validation API setting. This API is executed when the interval is triggered. It is important for the API that you define the ERROR and MESSAGE fields. If the ERROR field has the value 1, the MESSAGE field is output and the execution of the interval is cancelled.

With the setting Writing back due times from the planning board, you set whether if you reschedule an assignment to an interval, the following assignments are shifted accordingly. You can configure how often the writing back is carried out with the setting Interval for back coupling in minutes. D efine how far back the change of an assignment may be in order for it to be taken into account for the back coupling under Back coupling. Period for last change on assignment.

The end or the start of the assignment can be corrected, if the due date falls on a day off (weekend / holiday) and you activate the checkbox Correct start or end of assignment.

By default, the due date is understood as the start date of the assignment. If backwards planning is activated, the due date is understood as the end date.

With the setting Projects for execution you can determine how the projects are handled when the respective execution is used. If you select the option Use interval project, the project of the interval is used for the execution. If you select the option Sub-project from number range "WP", the number from the number range WP is appended after the project number of the interval. The two numbers are then separated by the separator that you specify in the setting Separator for sub-number. With the option Sub-project with consecutive number, a counter starting with 1 is appended to the project number of the interval after the separator, which is increased per triggering. The counter is incremented per main project.

With the option Linked Type you can set whether the reports or materials are allocated to the assignment, to the project or to the assignment and the project.

User Settings

In the section "Interval planning" within the User configuration you can set, which rights should be given to the user for the Interval planning.

Activate the checkbox "Maintain intervals" to enable the user to create, change and enable intervals. You can set, whether executions can be managed. Additionally you can give the right to edit interval templates (work package templates) to the user.
