Structure of the user interface
Structure
If you choose a
from the main menu
, the user interface is divided into three sections. On the left side is the search where you can restrict the search results with the search paramaters. The search results are in the middle. In the infodrawer on the right side are the documentation and further information for each column.
Search
In the search you can limit the results with search parameters. There are two search modes: the quick search and the advanced search. With the link on the bottom left you can change the search mode. Click on "advanced" for the advanced search and on "quick", if you want to change back to the quick search.
Hint
Alternatively you can change the mode with "ESC" and "m".
In the quick search you get a text field whose content is searched for in all the columns that are listed in the XML file. A like search with "%<text>%" is being performed in the fields.
The advanced search gives you the opportunity to limit the search results with several search components. A special feature is the free text search. While the other search components are bound to specific columns, the free text search is similar to the quick search and searches in all columns. The advanced search is a combination of the free text search and search parameters. If the text field of the free text search is empty, the search only considers the columns of the specified search parameters. If you switch between the two modi, the content from the quick search and the free text search will be transfered.
Search results
The search result is displayed with a grid. If one of the columns consists of a bollean value and the value in the row is "true", there is a green check mark. Date values can be displayed depending on the culture of the user.
If menu options are activated, an additional first row in the grid appears with
. If you click on this icon, the menu opens with the options.
A column marked as hyperlink in the grid is the primary key. Click on one of it to open the editing.
Depending on the settings you can add the
button on the bottom right. By clicking on this button, you can create a new entity.
Infodrawer
If you select an entry in the grid, you can see further information for the selected entity (if available). Alternatively you can click on
to open the documentation matching the type of search.
